This is Lapataia Bay in Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego National Park, the southern terminus of the Pan-American Highway. Alaska is 17,848 kilometers north. When I arrived, a car with British Columbia plates was just pulling out of the parking lot.
That’s me next to the sign which, I just found out, was carved by Carlos, my host for the week in Ushuaia, when he worked in the park as a ranger back in 1992. Small world at the end of the world, isn’t it?
Photo specs: 100 ASA, 15sec at f22 with an 8-stop ND filter. More about this extraordinary park and the land it protects and celebrates soon.

how i enjoy your posts from the tip of the southern hemisphere! what an amazing, calm, serene image!!!! you look quite calm and serene as well! thank you so much for the discipline of posting daily images! z
It was serene and remarkably calm – but making it a long exposure helped set that mood as well.

Živjo! Pratimo te, ne možeš nam uteći
Ha ha! Živjo Zagreb! THANKS for checking in and hope all is well!
I find it is amazing how coincidences happen when you travel. I look forward to hearing more about the end of the world. Be careful you don’t fall off the end…
