‘White’ is this week’s #FriFotos theme on twitter; if I was at home, I could simply take a photo of all the stolen white hotel towels I have. But I’m not. I’m sequestered at a resort hotel near Kavarna, Bulgaria, whose entire interior is swimming in a sea of white. But I won’t take pictures of any of that.
Instead I’ll stick primarily with my black and white fascination of late, but in order to adequately remain within the bounds of the theme, I’m only posting black and white shots of subjects that are actually white. Like the shot at top of the Kölner Dom, or Cologne Cathedral. I instantly fell in love with the woman in white floating in the center of the pic and have had her picture on the front page of this blog ever since.
This is We, a sculpture by Jaume Plensa I shot late one evening in Prague in February 2009. The entire piece is white.
Moving further south, this is a shot of Nouassa, on the Greek island of Paros, where almost all the buildings are bright white.
Now we move indoors briefly, to Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona – MACBA, an excellent museum which I hope isn’t getting too hard hit by the economic shenanigans in Spain. A few more pics from a previous post are here.
And finally, The White Eyes Music Club in rural Athens County, Ohio. Wouldn’t it be great if someone were to one day unearth some long lost recordings created here?
Happy #FriFotos, folks!
