Jurčki, or Boletus edulis
Saturday’s my main market day. I’m leaving town very early tomorrow morning for a week, so I didn’t do any shopping. But I just couldn’t stay away.
I spent a few minutes chatting with the mushroom pickers and vendors, and gazing at these beauties. These are Jurčki, or Boletus edulis, which the vendor was slicing just as I arrived. Fairly common and quite tasty, €5 a box. I’ll be getting some next week.
