I don’t know who he was or where he was going, but he was determined and in a hurry.
This was taken yesterday in Ljubljana’s Mestni Trg, or Town Square, in old town, which in early evening had the awkward cacophony of television broadcast vans providing an unusual soundtrack. Maybe that’s what this gentleman was scurrying away from.
Earlier in the day, the home of Ljubljana’s Mayor Zoran Jankovič was raided by police as part of an investigation into fraud, money laundering and abuse of office. Jankovič also heads Positive Slovenia, the center-left party that won a plurality in last year’s Parliamentary elections, so this is big news in Slovenia, and even attracted reporters from neighboring Croatia. No charges have yet been filed. For more, check Pengovsky, my No. 1 source for all things political in SLO who also has a fondness for redheads.
By the way, this is one of my favorite arched walkways in Ljubljana. For another view, in full living color (!), check here. And another B&W from six years ago before its facelift is here.

I love all three versions and can understand why it’s a favorite spot.
Great timing in the above photo!

Thanks – I was sitting there a bit, patiently waiting for someone to pass.
Toothpick or cigarette? Nice shot, by the way.
Cigarette. Thanks for stopping by!
Getting more of a kick out of the shot, the more I look at it. Camouflage bellbottoms? Great fashion statement.
He certainly is going somewhere with a purpose, well caught!
A hippie in a hurry.
