  1. I think Emerson would have appreciated this brief entry. If he wrote it himself, it would have been 100 times as long, full of redundant sentences and murky metaphors – and, of course, it wouldn’t make much sense but we’d have to agree with it all anyway just so we don’t admit we’re confused.
